La obra de este pintor se encuentra expuesta en la biblioteca y en esta ocasión se recuperan los dos poemas en los que se ha basado para crearla:
“Report to R.S.B.” (“Informe para R.S.B.”)
Peace did not come into my life.
My life escaped
and peace was there.
Often I bump into my life,
trying to catch its breath,
pay a bill,
or tolerate the news,
tripping as usual
over the cables
of someone’s beauty —
My little life:
so loyal,
so devoted to its obscure purposes —
And, I hasten to report,
doing fine without me.
La paz no llegó a mi vida.
Mi vida se escapó
Y la paz estaba allí.
A menudo me encuentro con mi vida
Intentando recuperar el aliento
Pagar una cuenta
O soportar las noticias,
Tropezando como de costumbre
En los cables
De la belleza de alguien
Mi pequeña vida
Tan leal
Tan dedicada a sus oscuros propósitos –
Y, me apresuro a informar,
Funcionando muy bien sin mí.
“On the path” (“En el sendero”)
On the path of loneliness
I came to the place of song
and tarried there
for half my life
Now I leave my guitar
and my keyboards
my friends and s-x companions
and I stumble out again
on the path of loneliness
I am old but I have no regrets
not one
even though I am angry and alone
and filled with fear and desire
Bend down to me
from your mist and vines
O high one, long-fingered
and deep-seeing
Bend down to this sack of poison
and rotting teeth
and press your lips
to the light of my heart
